What? No Campaign Donations Accepted??

Living in the area encompassed by Oregon's 3rd Congressional District for these last eighteen years has been a fabulous experience. We have some of the most spectacular destinations in America located in our district, including the Columbia River Gorge and the Mount Hood National Forest. It is a very unique and special place.

Unfortunately, while living here has been great - voting here has been anything but.

Politically, the 3rd District is a complete basket case from one end of the district to the other. To call it a bastion of socialism would not only be a vast understatement, it would also be an insult to all the good bastions out there.

The short version of what has happened to our district is this; a large percentage of those who live here think it is the responsibility of the federal government to take care of them. In addition, our district has an overly healthy population of; atheists, life-haters, tree huggers, and 60s hippies that never grew up, - not exactly what you would call my constituency.

Earl Blumenauer is probably a nice enough guy, but this is one of the few districts in the entire country where a socialist, with such a well documented record of breaking his oath to defend the Constitution, could get elected to any office - let alone to six terms in the U.S. Congress! He did get the original Iraq war vote right in 2002, but has been wishy-washy on war funding, and has made little use of his bully pulpit since then to speak out against the war.

I say all that to say this; if you have read anything at all on this site, you already know that the odds of me winning a race in this district are mighty slim. It would take millions to run even a semblance of a real campaign against an entrenched incumbent - especially one who has given away as much of our confiscated wealth as Earl Blumenauer has over the last ten years. So, rather than waste a lot of time and money on a futile effort, I will keep this campaign short and sweet...

Which will eliminate the need to beg you for money.

Even though it is a near certainty that Congressman Blumenauer will be heading back to the District of Criminals next year, I would still appreciate your vote. Yes, there is likely to be a Republican socialist (but I repeat myself) on the ballot as well, but we need to send a message to the one-party charade - that we refuse to vote for even one more sorry excuse for a candidate just because they have an "R" or a "D" next to their name.
