Congressional Oath of Office
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."
Every U.S. Senator and Representative must swear this oath before taking office. Based on their collective inability to govern in a way that even remotely adheres to the clear limitations and constraints the Constitution places on their authorized powers, it would seem that very few of those who are serving us take this oath seriously. We need to start holding them accountable.
This also happens to be the same oath every military officer must swear upon being given his commission - which should make us wonder if we have sent them off to the far corners of the earth fighting the wrong enemy.
