Why Run A Second Party Candidacy?
I am often asked a why I choose to run as a third party candidate instead of throwing my hat in with the Republicans - whom I blindly followed for nearly 20 years. (See: Confessions of a Former Republicroid Zombie) I find myself having to correct the question before I can answer it, because the term "third party" implies there are two other parties, which is clearly not the case. Once that is cleared up, my answer is; "with what has effectively become a merger of the Democratic and Republican parties - I am through playing their little games!"
Another question I am often asked is, “Why don’t you ever speak out against the Democrats? They’re bad too you know.” That is a fair question that has a simple answer, “why waste time stating what is already self-evident?”
It is an indisputable fact that the Democratic Party is infested with globalists and big government-loving socialists. Continuing to expound on a truth that is so universally understood can tend to get a little boring, and frankly, would take a lot of the enjoyment out of doing this. It is much more gratifying to expose the lesser known fact that the very same socialists and globalists who control the Democratic Party, also control the Republican Party. That is something worth taking the time to talk about.
A second party run for office is definitely not the easy way to gain access to our political system. The roadblocks to our success have been well fortified; it is nearly impossible to raise any money, the major media ignores us, and for the most part even the "conservative" media wishes we would just go away. But that is the price we are going to have to pay for the decades we have spent getting ourselves into this mess. It is going to take a huge amount of work from a lot of dedicated people to turn it around.
Under the current "conservative" leadership, winning elections has become the only guiding principle in politics. To that end, they have been willing to compromise on just about every important issue that has come before them. And many of us are no longer prepared to vote for candidates simply because of their party affiliation or because they checked off a few of the right boxes in some "conservative" voters guide. We have let the enemy roam freely in our camp, and it is time for us to fight back.
Conservative politics was recently summed up very succinctly to me by a Republican party insider. He said, (not even in a negative context!) "Philosophies and worldviews mean next to nothing. All that really matters anymore is whether there are more Rs than Ds in office after an election." I suppose that would be true if this were all just a big game and we were handing out a point for every D and a point for every R and adding up the score at the end.
But this battle is anything but a game. The fact is, we are in a war for the soul of our nation. And the casualty count is mounting at 3,600 children killed every day. The stakes are absolutely huge and things are not looking very good.
We have lost the moral high ground on almost every front. We are told that the way to get along in Washington is to compromise. Why is it that those on the left never seem to compromise? They are for big government, for big spending, for socialized medicine, for globalizm and for legalized child-killing. They have gotten everything they wanted and are willing to do whatever they need to do to further their agenda.
Why do we continue to lose ground year after year? It is because compromise always leads to more compromise. We compromise on a core belief and that becomes the new baseline. We compromise a little more and that becomes the new standard. Then we are asked to make just one more compromise which leads to a new and even lower standard. Before you know it, there is little difference in the agendas, only a difference in the time it will take to get there. The clock never seems to be set back.
It is time to try something completely different!
The continued failure of the one party monstrosity we have allowed to take over our government is no longer in doubt. The legislative branch of our government has come to have more in common with a vast criminal enterprise than it does anything resembling a real governing body. We can be confident that if we send the same gang of criminals back to Washington, we will get the same results.
We need a true independent to represent Oregon in the U.S. Senate. It is time for a change.
