The U.S Budget - The Shakedown

They do not make it easy to figure out what happens to all the money our government confiscates from us, at gunpoint, but you can start to put the pieces together by examining the U.S. budget for FY 2009. This $3.1 trillion monstrosity is avaialble here. Table S-8 is the summary table.

The 2009 budget is more than double what it was when Republicans took over the Congress in 1994 - ringing up a $1.5 trillion increase in annual spending. With conservatives like that who needs liberals? Of course, this is not a new trend. This budget history makes the compelling case that it makes absolutely no difference which "side" is in charge. (Go ot table 1.3, Page 25)

The R and D factions of the federal crime family hide behind "Mandatory" spending for much of that increase. If you look at the Mandadory section of Table S-8 you will find that Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, Welfare, foodstamps etc. will total $1.7 trillion in 2009 - not a penny of which is authorized by our Constitution. How did $1.7 trillion (which is more than the entire U.S. budget in 1999!) in unconstitutional spending suddenly become mandatory?

For most of the last 30 years we have had Republicans in control of either the Congress, the executive branch, or both. Which makes it all the more baffling that anyone could justify re-electing - year after year - the very same big government-loving socialists who caused this mess in the first place.  What is it going to take for American conservatives to realize that the Republicans pose a far greater danger to our Republic than the Democrats could ever hope to? (Not that we should ever elect a Democrat!)

It is obvious from the budget details that the purpose of our tax system is to confiscate the wealth from those who earned it, in order to transfer that wealth to those who did not earn it. As we move closer to a near parity between the number of producers of wealth compared to the number of consumers of that wealth, this is only going to get worse. Special interests have learned the lesson well, that paying off the right politicians can reap huge rewards.

Try to find any relationship between the spending in this budget and the powers that have been granted to Congress. You will have a hard time coming up with even 15% of these dollars that are being allocated for constitutionally authorized expenditures.

Even an authorized spending program such as defense, is bloated with unconstitutional spending for things like undeclared foreign wars, over 500,000 of our soldiers left to languish in 130 of the worlds 192 countries, and weapons programs that have nothing to do with protecting our country. If the goal of our military was actually to provide for the common defense of the states, we would only need to spend one tenth of the nearly $1 trillion we will squander in 2009 projecting our empire.

Please pay particular attention to the $302 billion category called "Other" under the "Mandatory" spending section of Table S-8.  As we know, our budget is chocked completely full of every kind of welfare program imaginable, from food stamps to WIC to unemployment insurance payments. These giveaways have gotten so huge and contain so much illegal spending, that many in Congress are too embarrassed to support these programs outright, so they lump it into a nebulous category called "Other" and make it "Mandatory." Without a doubt, at $302 billion, this mysterious category called "Other" represents some very serious redistribution of wealth.  Or put another way....

We are being shaken down by Uncle Sam!
