The Key Issues - The Symptoms of a Dying Republic

These symptoms, which are usually misdiagnosed as "issues," are the direct result of a government that is running completely out of control. (Or, maybe this is working out exactly as planned?) We will never clear up the symptoms until we begin treating the disease, which would involve kicking out every big spending, warmongering, oath-breaker currently serving in Congress.

This is not to imply there is much chance of that happening any time soon, but here are a few of the more outrageous assaults they have waged against everything America used to stand for:

The Immoral and Illegal Occupation of Iraq;
Against all logic, and completely against the oath they swore to defend the Constitution, Congress passed HJ Res. 114, the AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF MILITARY FORCE AGAINST IRAQ, in October of 2002. You need to read this for yourself here to see just what a cowardly bunch of losers we have representing us in Congress. They didn't even have the courage to declare a war!

Armed with "intelligence" that was fed to us by what the CIA now admits were Iranian double agents, George Bush usurped the power to declare war, a power that Congress alone possesses, and on his own, launched an undeclared, unprovoked attack against a country that posed no danger to us. It turns out that even under the terms of the "USE OF FORCE" authorization, the Iraqi occupation is completely illegal. 4,000 American soldiers have died, and well over 100,000 Iraqi civilians are now dead as a direct result of this colossal blunder. (Our ability to kill Iraqi civilians in such large numbers, in such a short amount of time, puts Sadam to shame!)

There is no evidence Iraq was ever any kind of threat to the American people. There is no evidence Iraq was a terrorist haven. There is no evidence Iraq was involved in 9/11. There is no evidence Iraq had huge WMD stockpiles. (or even little WMD stockpiles) There is no evidence Iraq was trying to buy nuclear weapons material from Nigeria. There is no evidence Iraq even had an army! There is however, plenty of evidence that we were repeatedly lied to by those we have entrusted to serve us.(For a brief list of their lies click here)

Bottom line: Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, had little or no WMD, (but, even if they did have WMD, how is that our problem?) and they were never a threat to us. So George Bush either: A) lied to us, B) chose to recklessly invade a country based on incredibly flimsy evidence, C) had strange voices in his head that told him to invade Iraq. Any way we want to look at it, Bush is unworthy of the office we have entrusted him with. The very first thing we need to do after his impeachment, (let's make it a twofer and get rid of Cheney too) is to offer an apology to the Iraqis (and the world) for the illegal invasion that destroyed most of their country - and offer to pay them for all the things we broke and all the people we killed. Dittos for Afghanistan.

Then, we need to bring every one of our troops home - immediately! [top]

The Congressional Den of Lawlessness
Congress has been "vested" with very specific and very limited powers by our Constitution. Some of the powers are significant, such as raising an army and declaring war. Others are fairly mundane, such as opening Post Offices, setting up copyright laws and publishing a journal of Congressional activities. You can find a complete list on the Vested Powers page of this site. The powers detailed in Article 1 of the Constitution are unambiguous and were intended to be the entirety of the powers of Congress. Article 1 was NOT intended to be a list of suggestions!

The reason our founders documented the vested powers to the level of detail they did, is because they intended to keep Congress very well controlled and with very limited powers. Please take a look at my commentary When Lawbreakers Rule a Nation for some more thoughts on this.

Conspicuously missing from these specific powers is any authority over education, health care, food distribution, housing, foreign aid, farming, transportation, spotted owls, retirement, job creation, energy production, gun regulation, space exploration, “family planning”, day care, the "arts", etc. Congress needs to be restricted to the powers expressly granted to it in the Constitution.

The vast majority of the members of Congress have been breaking the law on a daily basis by usurping powers that belong to the states and the people. Which makes them no better than the renegades and criminals our government is supposed to be protecting us from!

The "Federal" Reserve: Counterfeit Money - Stolen Wealth
The Federal Reserve is, quite literally, an international counterfeiting ring that has been granted exclusive authority by the US Congress to create money from absolutely nothing. In most cases, they do not even bother to print their phony Federal Reserve Notes. Instead, a few more zeros are simply added to a digital balance sheet.

Two interesting facts about the Federal Reserve - a) it is not federal, and b) there are no reserves. In actuality, the Federal Reserve is an international cartel of private banks that has formed a partnership with the US government for the sole purpose of enacting laws that allow the cartel to continue creating money from absolutely nothing -with no competition!

The Federal Reserve creates this money out of thin air, (nearly four trillion fake dollars were created in just last three years!) and injects it into the economy through the banking system - often called "liquidity." The international private banks that comprise the Fed then get to charge an exorbitant fee - which they get to keep - to anyone who wants to use this "money" - which is obviously a pretty sweet deal. Congress wins too, as it has unlimited access to this vast sum of created wealth simply by forcing the American people to the pay the cartel for the privilege of using it - which is conveniently extorted from us at gunpoint by the IRS.

The local banks are in on the scam as well. They take this "money," which came from absolutely nothing, and multiply it by up to 90 times (yes, ninety times!) to use for car loans, mortgages, etc. This phony money is loaned to us at whatever confiscatory interest rate they can get us to pay.

"Wait a minute," you say, "the banks can collect interest - for 30 years - on money they created out of thin air? How can I get a piece of that action?" Sorry ole buddy, you and I would be hauled off to jail if we tried to pull a stunt like this. This form of robbery is reserved for a very special, well connected, breed of counterfeiter. As these huge new piles of phony money enter the banking system, the phony money already in circulation becomes even more worthless, which leads to higher prices. We choose the relatively benign sounding term "inflation" to describe this giant rip off, as if some immutable force of nature is the cause of our declining lifestyle. But, make no mistake - this is a brilliantly contrived plot to pick the pocket of every American.

Never before in the history of the world, has a such an elaborate scheme of larceny been perpetrated on such a grand scale, with the willing participation of the victims. The Tyrannical Courts
Congress is the ONLY branch of the Federal Government that has the power to make laws. But for many years, we have allowed un-elected judges to usurp this law-making authority. (not to mention presidents, EPA clerks, etc.) Whenever unauthorized government agencies are allowed to create laws, our whole system of checks and balances is bypassed. Chaos is the inevitable result of this illegal usurpation of power.

Seven of the nine current sitting Supreme Court Justices were nominated by Republican presidents. Sadly, even with these "conservative" appointments, the court is just as tyrannical today as it has ever been - if not more so! Which invalidates the argument that we need to elect Republicans in order to protect the courts.

The problem is that we have no opposition party in Washington now that the Republicans and the Democrats have, for all practical purposes, merged into one political party. The vast majority of those from the dem/rep party absolutely refuse to obey the law. The intense (and mostly phony) battles we have seen over court appointments would not be necessary if Congress would do it's duty and regulate the courts to appellate jurisdiction only as called for in Article 3, Section 2 of the Constitution. The courts will only have as much authority as the Congress chooses to give them. (Which is unlimited authority, apparently)

There have been so many usurpations of power by the courts, it is hard to keep track of them all. Along with the fifty million dead babies that resulted from the 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision, there is the relentless assault our courts have waged against the Bill of Rights, or stated more correctly - the insurrection and treason by the judicial thugs who sit on the bench.

We are a republic, not a dictatorship. What has happened to our courts is an abomination to any freedom loving people. We need leaders who will stand up to this illegal power grab - we need leaders who will fight against judicial tyranny....

We need leaders who will take that power back! [top]

The Loss of All Private Property
If you think you own your home, think again. Even if you have paid back every one of the fake dollars your bank created out of thin air the moment they funded your mortgage, you still don't own your home. Just try to stop paying your property taxes and see who really owns it. At best, you have a leasing agreement with your local taxing authority. In actuality, you have an extortion agreement with them.

We have somehow gotten ourselves into a situation where nearly every square inch of this country is now owned by a government agency. If you fail to pay off the shakedown money demanded by whichever entity has laid claim to your property, heavily armed government enforcers will show up at your house to take it away from you - with extreme violence if necessary.

The 5th Amendment is clear - No person shall...be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law...

The ownership of private property is the very foundation of a free people. Being forced to pay extortion money in order to keep your property should not be confused with due process of law. That is tyranny! Property taxes collected under threat of violence are a clear violation of our inalienable right to own property.

It is time to end this grave injustice. [top]

The Abortion Holocaust
Most of the money that was raised for pro-life political efforts over the last 35 years has been completely wasted. During that time, we took "pro-life" politicians at their word when they promised they would fight to end the abortion holocaust. And we continued sending them the money. Lot's of it.

Well, it turns out they lied to us. Hundreds of millions of dollars were raised, while nearly 50,000,000 babies died.

It would be hard to argue that all these years of pro-life compromise and appeasement - or voting for the "lesser" of two evils - has brought us any closer to ending legalized child-killing in America. To the contrary, we have lowered the bar to such an extent that anyone who speaks out against even one abortion can claim the pro-life mantle and expect, and will probably get, support from the mainstream pro-life groups. What a mess.

So why do we keep fighting when victory has remained so elusive? We are compelled, as the blood of the millions of children who have been slain is crying out for justice. The hands of every American are stained by the innocent blood we have shed, as all of us who live here are responsible for the carnage in one way or another.

Of this we can be sure - there will be an accounting. May GOD have mercy on America when the payment comes due.
